Innovations in the Extraction/Isolation and Characterization of Plant Bioactives (Phenolics) presented by Dr. Farooq Anwar
The present lecture, in line with the principles of green extraction, mainly focuses on the potential uses of bio-, and/or agro-solvents and innovative techniques such as microwave-assisted extraction, enzyme-assisted extraction, ultrasound-assisted extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, pressurized liquid extraction, hydrotropic extraction, and plant milking technology (PMT) to be applicable for the optimal recovery and production of high-quality plant phenolic extracts for value-addition. Besides, the role of state-of-the-art analytical techniques towards isolation/fractionation and characterization of plant phenolics will be covered.
