The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, College of Pharmacy [Girls section], Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University, launched a blood donation campaign (BDC) for all the faculties, staffs and students of the College in alliance with the Blood Bank at King Khalid Hospital, Al-Kharj and with the “Pharmadol” club. The campaign was held at College of Pharmacy [Girls], Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University, Al - Kharj, on Wednesday, 29/02/1440 H.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry wanted to an emphasis on the importance of social corporate responsibility, which includes supporting hospitals and blood banks in replenishing their supplies. During the donation campaign, many numbers of employees contributed remarkably in favour of the success of the campaign, reflecting their willingness to support such causes in light of the College of Pharmacy [Girls] endless determinations to serve the society's goals.
All precautions were carried out before the commencing of blood donation. The donors were analyzed for the blood grouping, Hemoglobin levels, height, body weight, blood pressure etc. The Doctors and nurses of the King Khalid hospital had brought all the instruments, storage containers for storing blood, emergency medication and emergency instruments to ensure the safety of the donors. Further, the members of the “Pharmadol” Club provided healthy food like fresh fruit juices and fruit salad, cakes for the donors.
