Under the supervision of the college Dean Dr. Fahad Alsikhan a lecture presented by Dr. Yassin Alridie on Synthesis of an original collection of substitued pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine and their optimization as potential kinase inhibitors. On Tuesday 18th Oct. 2016 the lecture focuses on the pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines target compounds were synthesized from 2,7-dichloropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine via palladium-catalyzed couplings and in order to obtain kinases inhibitors. These bioactive compounds inhibit kinases such as Cyclin Dependant Kinases (CDK), Glycogen Synthase 3 (GSK3) or Dual specificity tYRosine-phosphorylation-regulated Kinase 1A (DYRK1A) in the nanomolar range.
