Held on the Main Campus theater at Salman Bin Abdul Aziz University on the morning of Monday, 30 Safar 1436 AH corresponding to 22/12/2014 AD at 10:00 am the first workshop for the chair of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid bin Ghoneim Research Therapeutics Prophetic Medicine, develop and manufacture natural products under the auspices of the Rector Dr. Mohamed bin Abdul Rahman Alasimi and the presence of University deans and vice deans and university colleges members and a group of distinguished guests interested in health in the region and representatives of pharmaceutical companies.
The opening of the workshop started by reading verses from the Holy Quran and then the word of His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Kherfy supervisor of the chair and dean of Pharmacy college in which he welcomed the attendees and guests, whereby he mentioned the message, vision and objectives of the chair and the goals of access to the drugs from prophetic medicine and medicine in the Saudi Traditional medicine and herbs.
It was subsequently review the findings of the chair by of both Prof. Majid Saad Abdel Qader, professor and chair and Prof. Gamal Abdel Hakim Soliman and Dr. Magdy Mohamed Mahram. Prof. Maged Saad Abdul Qadir reviewed the chair working mechanisms and the formation of research groups to accomplish the tasks required and the steps involved in the study of all the plants that are chosen to be under study.
Prof. Maged reviewed the current situation in terms of the number of plants that have been selected for the study, and the stage refered by each plant. He also presented some pharmaceuticals manufactured at the Chair and praised the efforts of all colleagues in the research Chair in all the different disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdel Hakim Suleiman, head of pharmacology department reviewed the results that have been obtained from the study of the impact of three plant extracts on rats. Extracts showed anti-inflammatory effects and the protective effect of lead acetate on the fertility of male rats. In the third experiment studied the effect of plant recap on wound healing and experiments have shown promising results.
Dr. Magdy Mohamed reviewed the results of a study summary of one plant anti-bacteria and fungi have Conclusion showed good results to discourage certain types of bacteria and fungi, which are difficult to obtain inhibitory compounds with the resistance to the effect of antibiotics.
After the floor was opened for discussion in front of the guests and audiences, which lasted for 30 minutes. After some discussion, the Rector conclude the workshop by providing a gift to the representative of Sheikh Saad bin Abdullah bin Zaid bin Ghoneim funded chair who expressed his gratitude and happiness of accomplishment that has been achieved
