Student Rights Unit
The establishment of this unit aims to create a supportive atmosphere for student rights based on legal foundations within the college, in an attempt to eliminate the wrong view that views the student as a container of obligations and duties, without having the rights that guarantee him a stable and successful university life. In order to protect the rights of the student, it is necessary to establish a body that has the elements of impartiality and independence to consider his grievances, which is what university environments devote to There is no doubt about the importance of upholding the value of these rights among our students, as this has a positive impact on the development of a culture of equity and justice, which helps in the formation of a sound university environment in which rights are preserved and values and morals are observed, which will bring good to society as a whole, God willing, as soon as the graduates rise with the burdens of responsibility for their homeland in various fields.
Among the pillars of the project:
Preparing a student rights document that includes an integrated system of rights and duties that the student must sign upon entering the university. For current students at the university, they are given the opportunity to sign the document and keep a copy for their files.
The complaint should be considered in two stages: the first starts through sub-committees for the protection of student rights established in the college, concerned with examining the complaints of students when they continue their university studies, provided that the students with complaints have the right to file a grievance in a second stage before the central unit.
Taking into account the predominance of the legal element over the formation of the central unit for the protection of student rights.
Student participation by including a student representative with the membership of the student rights protection committees in the various faculties.
The Student Rights Protection Committee at the college is specialized in looking into written student complaints and grievances according to the following:
- Student complaints related to material errors that occur when monitoring final exam scores, without having the right to be subjected to the discretionary authority of the correctional faculty member.
- Student complaints related to abuse and mistreatment of students by faculty members.
- Student complaints related to depriving the student of one of the university services provided for similar students.
