“Your own Pharmacy”

The students of the College of Pharmacy (Girl’s section), held an event “Your own Pharmacy” for the students of the College of Education (Girls section), on 18/03/1440 H.  The students of Level 5 leaded the event under the supervision of Dr. Rana Al Saffar, Department of Pharmacology.

The main aim of this event is to educate the students about safe and effective medicines, its use present in the First Aid kit.  The major profits of First Aid are, It allows those trained with the potentially lifesaving ability to assist an injured or ill person during a variety of emergency situations. The students also explained how to have their own first aid kit. Home first aid kits are usually used for treating these types of minor traumatic injuries like Burns, Cuts, Abrasions (scrapes), Stings, Splinters, Sprains and strains. Further students also explain the safe and secure handling of medicines.  Pharmacy students also taught how to respond to symptoms of diseases and advise on how to use the medicines for certain conditions.

Finally, the Pharmacy students also showed how to measure the Blood pressure and sugar level for a person with the volunteers and given its importance and how to correlate with the clinical conditions.

The event was well appreciated by the students of College of Education [Girls], PSAU and indeed expected more such events on different health issues to be presented in near future since it is giving and gaining confidence among both categories of students.
