The lecture dealt with chronic hypertension where the one of the risk factors in all parts of the world that lead to heart disease, blood vessels and kidneys deadly. The high blood pressure affects more than a quarter of the world's population, including Saudi Arabia. It is expected in 2025, this percentage increases to 24% in developed countries and 80% in developing countries and is the discovery of genes that contribute to the control of blood pressure direct way to achieve the objectives of the control of blood pressure. The identification of the gene responsible for high pressure, which began in 2000 (the Millennium Project) aims to understand the genetic causes of hypertension and determine the genome of the disease.
