The College of Pharmacy and all its employees congratulate Prof. Dr. Jamal Abdel-Hakim Suleiman, supervisor of the Department of Pharmacology, for obtaining a patent from the European Patent Office with the number EP 24947477, where he presented the Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing Program at King Saud University with thanks والتقدير للأستاذ الدكتور جمال سليمان لحصوله Patented under the title “A New Safe Antibiotic from Natural Products”, as part of the research team consisting of Prof. Dr. Amani Awwad, Prof. Dr. Nabila Al-Jaber and researcher Tahani Al-Hamad
According to the invention, 6 compounds were separated from three types of fungi of the genus Canninghamella, and some of them were found to have an antimicrobial effect, which helps heal wounds. What distinguishes this invention is that the compounds separated from the fungus have no side effects and are safe even if used بجرعات كبيرة ولمدة طويلة تصل الى 35 يوم. كما يمكن استخدامها بطرق Multiple, whether liquid in the form of syrup or solid in the form of tablets or capsules or even topically in the form of ointment or cream.
